Otherwise known as a 'Building Survey' report, this survey is the most comprehensive survey that the RICS provides and is typically required for older buildings (typically pre 1940). 

Similarly to a Level 2, this survey is designed to help you make the right decision on whether to proceed with your purchase and provides lenders with required information on the condition of the property.

It provides a detailed account of the building with everything covered in a Level 2, however, with more information on the physical materials used, the structure itself and research into the historic and environmental context.
